Rape now attracts Life Imprisonment in Nigeria

The house of Representatives yesterday Tuesday 5th March, approved the sentence of life imprisonment for any person convicted of rape. Also, a minimum of 20 years without an option of fine for persons who gang rape someone. The bill which was sponsored by Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, also approved 25 years imprisonment for any person attempted to use chemical, biological or any harmful liquidon another person, as in acid bath cases.
